Playlist: 08/26/10 - Artist Spotlight on Outkast

Date: 08/26/10
Notes: Throughout it's lifespan, hip-hop has been predominately represented in terms of east and west coast. This week, ThaiMex and Santanna Hill decided to highlight the careers of Andre 3000 & Big Boi... better known as the duo called Outkast.

Playlist: 08/19/10 - Featuring Q-Tip

Date: 08/19/10
Note(s): Undoubtedly established as one of hip-hop’s innovators and greats both through his work as a member of A Tribe Called Quest and as a solo artist, this is a night that instead features work Q-Tip has done for releases outside of his own body of work. From hip-hop to r&b, jazz to latin music, Q-Tip has been placing his unique sense of rhythm and vibe on music listeners since 1987.

Again on a solo mission, ThaiMex decided to show the level of influence Q-Tip has on music in creating a vibe. Although there is a rich history that has been created by Q-Tip's creative endeavors, ThaiMex decided not to play a single song by A Tribe Called Quest or Q-Tip's solo body of work to prove his point. Instead, he played songs by everyone else that featured Q-Tip.
